The development of the Cultural Workers Bureau (CWB) logo presented a unique challenge. CWB promotes speakers and artists of African descent to an international artists. The logo needed to represent both speakers and artists and have a distinct African vibe. I chose a microphone as this is an item both genres share in common. Africa has a rich batik history and it is a common fabric found in homes in Africa and the diaspora. Thus, the choice for the microphone background.
Though we presented three different designs to the CWB Web Committee, we were pleased and honored to be allowed to select our favorite design for the Cultural Workers Bureau logo.
